Dear Jeff,
We met in China years ago when you came as a couple. I'm a friend of Jehan too who kept me update of the news. It is really sad. I'm praying that Jehovah keeps giving you the comfort you need to deal with everyday's emotions and responsabilities. Sweet memories of dearest Myra. Waiting for her. Love from France.

When Nola and I joined Chinese, Myra was one of the friends who made us feel incredibly welcome. A year later when we were contemplating moving to China, Myra was the one who told us to just do it. She said whatever challenges we would experience will work out. So we moved. She was the tipping point for us to make a big decision in our life. And we are glad we did. We made amazing memories. Things that built our faith. Things we will carry with us for a long time.

We knew Myra on many levels for many years. She and her family are interwoven into the fabric of who we are.
One of my greatest joys was being able to work with Myra secularly as a proctor. You might think administering tests and watching people take them could be boring, but with the right people it is a hoot. With Myra it was a hoot. We traveled to Chicago multiple times to administer tests for Chicago fire and police exams. We loved it! Time together, fun stuff to do, great places to eat and then of course the work, which with her there was so memorable.
Another test we did was notary exams all over Northern California. She always drove, we talked and laughed and figured out life, administered the test and then talked the whole way home. We were being paid to spend time together!
Once in 2014 Myra was in the front of the group reading the instructions. We had just had a special WT magazine on one hundred years of Kingdom rule. So she announced to the whole group “Write your name on the test booklet, sign your name, and write today’s date which is September 20th, 1914. No wait, sorry, 2014.”
We both about doubled over. We couldn’t look at each other the rest of the test and when they all left we laughed and laughed.
I miss her so much, because she made everything fun.

Here's a story about Myra:
One morning, Myra and Elliot were out and about when a lady rear-ended them. There was no serious damage.
She was very apologetic and nice, her name was Margaret. Myra thought Margaret made a good scratch on their bumper but was unsure because it already had a few dings. She offered Myra $100 cash on the spot and put the money in her hand. They started talking, and she said she was under a lot of stress. She explained she was having serious family problems with her parents, and she had broken out in a terrible rash from all the stress. Her arms looked so painful to Myra.
Myra believed her because when Myra gave her the money back, she gave it to Myra again. She told Myra her full name and that she was a CNA at Kaiser. She was on her way to work. Myra again gave the money back to her, and Margaret started crying.
As Elliot and Myra got into the car to go home, Myra felt that there must be a reason that she told her her full name. When they got home, Myra verified that she did work at Kaiser and found 3 tracts that would be good to share with her. She wrote her a brief letter saying she was a Witness and explained a bit and then said she could contact her if she wanted to.
Elliot and Myra went back to the hospital to try to find her, but all they had was her name and that she was a CNA. So, a volunteer said she would give the card to a supervisor to track down Margaret.
Myra prayed that she could get confirmation that Margaret received the letter and tracts. Myra said, "I really, really hope she calls me back!"
Afterwards, Myra said she realized that she needed to carry English tracts, instead of only Chinese, so she could spread seeds of truth.
That's who Myra was. A stranger could rear-end her car with her child in it, and her genuine concern and generosity of spirit would have the person go away with their money, comforted to tears, and tracked down to give them more comfort from Jehovah, with an open offer to reach her anytime. And completely ready to do it all again!

I knew Myra mostly through her grandma Rosie….I was excited to learn when she had gone to China….and other wonderful Life changes. When they finally arrived in Arcade cong what a Blessing that was! Myra and Jeff brought so much Fun and Life to all of us. They set such an encouraging example for everyone, especially those also with children. I’m sure Jeff that you will continue to do Just That!
Loosing someone is simply Not Acceptable…and We both feel God’s determination to Undo This Sadness!
I truly believe he will act SOON👍🏻

I didn't know Myra as well as I'd have liked. However I was definitely drawn to her and felt like we had quite a bit in common. I look forward to the opportunity to know her better and pray that Jehovah help her family and friends endure until she wakes up.

What a beautiful trip down memory lane of Myra by means of the program! We love the Brien family very much and will keep praying that Jah gives you the comfort you each need "at the right time." (Heb 4:16) We can't wait until the time our good memories become reality again. All our love to you and your extended family.
